Decorator of the Year

Linda McCall

International and regional design journalists judged her work the best among the winners in 12 categories. Linda will be honored in New York City by renown interior
designer Mario Buatta.

Her winning room makeover was a dramatically designed family room that is now a warm and elegantly casual enclave--perfect for welcoming adult children, grandchildren and friends. Her design reflects her client's penchant for an eclectic mix of Nantucket and
Asian styles and creates architectural interest with the new fireplace

Donayre and People's Choice Award

Kathie Golson & Adrianna Serrano

Owners and decorators within Decorating Den Interiors were the judges for the prestigious Donayre Award. It is named in honor of Carol Donayre Bugg, ASID, author of five decorating books and Decorating Den Interiors’ Vice President and Director of Design.

People from throughout North America, and even beyond, cast more than 25,000 votes online and chose Kathie and Adriana's makeover as the People's Choice among more than 300 entries.

Their clients wanted their master bedroom to be a space that awed them every time they entered the room. Kathie and Adriana delivered. The 78" tall custom upholstered headboard with the black wall behind it adds drama and perspective to the high-ceilinged room. They designed the bench with nail-head trim in satin nickel and used a marine metallic colored vinyl fabric to be a water-repellant seating area after coming in from a swim.
