A Family That Decorates Together Stays Together: Learn How The Sisters Got Their Start

Oftentimes, coworkers can become like family. For Jennifer Ward-Woods and Barbara Elliot, this is true in more ways than one. They're the co-owners of The Sisters and Company, an interior design firm located in Atlanta Georgia — and they're also sisters.

Both women have worked alongside each other over the years, building their business and creating beautiful spaces at every turn. In partnership with Decorating Den Interiors, they've been highlighted as the top franchise with retail and sales for three years — showcasing just how well they work together.

Let's look at how they got their start and what types of services they offer their clients today.

How The Sisters Got Their Start

Barbara and Jennifer grew up tight-knit. While they both have always had a love for design, they didn't start working together immediately.

Jennifer used to do design work out of her home on her own. She discovered Decorating Den Interiors when she stumbled upon a commercial and became intrigued instantly. After meeting the owner and even becoming her decorator, Barbara grew interested in what she was doing. She then bought a franchise in Atlanta, and the rest is history.

As business boomed, they added more team members, helping them continue their work on a larger scale. "The opportunity to work with women who look like me and have that same entrepreneurial mindset and business-oriented structure is awesome," said Ariel Chen, Design Assistant at The Sisters and Company.

Decorating Runs in the Family

While The Sisters and Company mainly consists of Jennifer and Barbara, they have a full team of design experts who help them bring their clients' visions to life. One of those team members is Hope Christine, Media Manager and Barbara's Daughter.

"It is my family," said Hope. "But growing our family with other designers and people who work in the office has been truly amazing."

And Hope isn't alone in feeling grateful for the work culture that Barbara and Jennifer have created, enabling everyone to feel creative and connected in all initiatives.

"It's very much a sisterhood and family environment," said Ariel. "And we've accomplished so much together."

This type of family-focused and loving atmosphere enables everyone to do what they do best: make their clients' homes a breathtaking space that they can enjoy for years to come.

Making Their Clients' Dreams Come True

When you work with a Decorating Den Interiors designer, you gain a wealth of knowledge and decorating skills necessary to complete the job on time, on budget and exactly how you envision. And they won't tell you what you want — they'll let you decide that for yourself, guiding you each step of the way.

"When working with a client, we are detectives," said Barbara. "We try to go in and learn as much as we possibly can about them."

They do this because they'd want the same if they were in your shoes. Our decorators always ensure you're comfortable and have a voice throughout the project's life cycle because they know how important this is and want to get it right, no matter what.

"We take our projects very personally," said Jennifer. "Your home is like our home."

After learning what you desire and coming up with an action plan, your decorator will make magic happen, coordinating all efforts so you don't have to lift a finger.

"It's a lot of work, but when you get to the reveal part, it is worth every penny, every second, every moment," said Hope.

Here at Decorating Den Interiors, we love to fully prep your home and reveal everything at once so you can see the rooms in all their glory. This step is a celebration of all the energy, time and love that's gone into designing the space, and The Sisters and Company love it!

"It's so rewarding to see the enjoyment and excitement on their faces when we're able to take their home and make it into such a beautiful space that they didn't even imagine they could have," said Jennifer.

The Sisters and Company takes immense pride in their work and can't wait to partner with more clients and expand their reach. "We love what we do," said Barbara. "We try to make the process as easy and fun as possible, so why not give us a call."
