Decorating Den Interiors announces Franchise Owner of the Year and other top business awards
Easton, Md. — Interior design franchise owner Kathy McGroarty, Lansdale, Pa., (https://kathymcgroarty.decoratingden.com) was named Franchise Owner of the Year, the highest franchisee business award presented by Decorating Den Interiors, North America’s largest interior design and home furnishings franchise company and leading in-home decorating service.
“Kathy has been in business since 2011 and has consistently been among our leaders in retail sales,” said James S. Bugg, Jr., president and CEO. “Her regard among our franchisees is exemplified in her recently having been elected as chair of our DDI Leadership Council, which advises our executive team on policies and programs that support their interior design businesses. Her exceptional dedication and service through cooperation with other franchise owners, suppliers and management are excellent examples of this award’s criteria.”
“I was thoroughly surprised and honored,” McGroarty said. “I am proud to be part of this wonderful company. I have had design and business opportunities I could not have had on my own. It is really a privilege to be able to help other franchise owners.”
What would have been an awards gala held during the company’s 51st annual international conference, was held via a special video celebration with more than 200 participating online because of the Covid19 Sheltering-in-Place.

The franchises with the top retails sales by their entire team were the CPI Interiors Team, Ottawa, Ontario for being the highest worldwide and in Canada. Sisters Barbara Elliott and Jennifer Ward Woods, Stone Mountain, Ga., were celebrated for having the highest sales in the U.S.
Rising Star Awards went to two franchise owners because both had such significant sales accomplishments in their first 12 months in business and were so close in their sales achievements. They were Lisa Bibawi, of Dallas, and Tanya Kash, of Las Vegas.
Region of the Year was the Central Florida Region of eight franchises managed by Debbie Demboski, owner of a Decorating Den Interiors serving the Tampa area. “The award is the highest honor the company bestows on a region. It recognizes their combination of overall sales rankings, growth, and the way they serve as an example of the power of our interior design business model,” Bugg said.
The region with the highest sales was the South Florida region, managed by Jennifer Manley, corporate vice president, retail sales.
Regional Field Managers of the Year were Pat and Nola Shivers, of Nixa, Mo., who manage franchises in Missouri and Kansas. This award is presented for outstanding personal achievements in the areas of leadership, management, motivation and inspiration.
